Had our first restaurant breakfast yesterday , steak, eggs and fries, ham, eggs, fries, served on large platters, cups and cups of coffee, cold water, real service, a lot of good old boys, including the owner discussing hunting and fishing, the owner told us he had two cooks, one has been with him 31 years and another 29 years. Total cost $18.00. We passed near Little Rock, Paul remembers in 1957 watching on TV when the President ordered in the 1o1 Airborne to escort nine black students into the high school, it was the first integration. Save a Lot stores here have lots of picture adds showing how a family of four can eat a healthy meal for under five bucks, it is true. On April Ist, we were warned about a virus and didn't use our laptop, we went into the hotel at the campground and our blog came up in Arabic, we told the desk clerk we haven't been paying attention to the news,we asked him if Iraq had won the war! We showed him the Arabic on the screen, we logged out and started again, it came up in English. Maybe Osama Bin Laden was just having fun with us on April Fool's Day to show he is still in charge! Rest! Sally, Rest!
We haven't used the GPS for a few days, actually we have been on the same highway for three days across Arkansas. Trish didn't want to use the showers because there were no locks and we seen men coming in and out of the women's! I gave her the Lousiville Slugger and watched from the camper! Heavy rains driving yesterday, sure hard on the Lazy Boys and couches on everyones front Veranda! Two campgrounds, two state parks, one motel room and ten Wal-Marts and today we will be in Texas!
